Myanmar with Actxplorer

Yangon & Bagan

In this 6-day open trip from 17-22 January 2019, discover the beauty of this under-explored country in the region, and get to meet amazing people who are doing good in their communities. (10 to go, so grab your friends along to sign up!)

Day 1 — Arrive in Yangon, explore the Bogyoke market, and head off to Bagan on an overnight bus ride!
Day 2 — Explore the scenery, history and architecture of Bagan on e-bikes and boats. The day ends with a home-cooked dinner and marionette show under a tamarind tree.
Day 3 — Live like a local by participating in a cooking class. Explore a community-based tourism village in the later half of the day before the overnight ride back to Yangon.
Day 4 — Participate in soy milk making and distribution at a squatter settlement, visit a clean stove social enterprise, and participate in a wood crafting workshop. Feel free to explore the rest of Yangon during free and easy time at night!

Day 5 — Learn from our physically less-able hosts on how to make your own beautiful and waterproof coin pouch / pencil case with up-cycled plastics. Try some of the best street foods in Yangon with our street food tour guides, and the earnings goes back to educating street children.

Day 6 — Visit National Races Village or commute on the Circular Train. Before departing for Singapore, we will have time for some last minute shopping.
